Its a new post!

I’d have done this sooner, however I doubt many people are reading it, and not a whole lot has happened. I’ve been off my bike for a few weeks now after I took a nasty fall and impaled my leg on a tree branch, so I’m looking forward to getting back on in a few days after I finish this second round of night shifts. I’m moving to a different team at work, our goal is to help improve this team’s ‘teamliness’ as well as their skills, and knowledge; we’ll see how this goes…
I still haven’t sequenced the video from Kelso, I keep getting harassed to do it, maybe I’ll work on it after I finish this post. We went to the cabin this weekend, and holy hell it was hot, 35 degrees on friday afternoon, and it didn’t dip below 30 at night (thats before the horrible humidity). Last night was better, there was some rain so it helped cool it down a bit. Anyways, I’m going to sequence that video now, maybe it will help me stay awake to finish this hellish night change over. More later, hopefully I’ll have some video…
So Kelso was disappointing

I didn’t post this yesterday cause after I got home, cooked diner and showered I decided it was time to pass out. Kelso was disappointing to say in the least, sure there’s some good trails, but most of the stuff is too rocky, technical, and not nearly wide enough for someone on a 29er without a full suspension. I was in pain when I got home, I don’t really need to explain why…
I don’ think I’ll be going there again, unless I get a full suspension 26er bike, because it just wasn’t fun. I have video, lots of it, I just have to edit, sequence, add audio, and transcode, and then I’ll upload it, maybe I’ll get to it Tuesday…
I’ve also made the decision I’m going to ride after work now as much as I can. I’m going to start pushing myself to ride harder, and faster with FAR fewer breaks. I’ve got a 6.5k track that is pretty fun, and has a lot of flats, as well as some up and down http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/sWUDqWHaF-w. I figure I can probably get the time down on that without a hell of a lot of effort over the next few days at the very least. Having better brakes will make the ride easier too, that way I don’t have to wrench on my fucking handles to slow down. Oh yeah, my brakes showed up yesterday as I was walking out the door to head to Kelso, so I’ll be installing those Tuesday morning, hopefully my fork shows up early next week too so I can get that sucker set up… mmm 120mm of travel and fully adjustable, can’t wait for that manitou to be on my bike.
Anywho, thats enough for now, I’m gonna go to bed, gotta go to work in the morning again
[Edit] Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, fuck software upgrades… That is all…
Summer is finally here

Summer has finally gotten into full swing, and with that so have I. I’ve been biking as much as possible, every chance I get I’m out on the trails riding my ass off pushing my limits, and falling over and making an ass of myself
For those who don’t know, I bought a Rocky Mountain Soul 29′er this year (about 2 months ago), and I’ve already put well over 100KM on it. I’ve fallen into upgrade fever with it though
I’ve ordered new brakes, and a new fork, and of course me being the tech junkie I am, I picked up all the little electronic goodies that go along with offroad riding, like a GPS, and a Go Pro HD Hero helmet cam (the helmet cam will come in handy once snowboarding season starts too!). I have re-kindled my love of offroad riding, I can’t believe I went so long without doing this again. The rush is amazing especially when you get into the downhill stuff, or the little twisties, or the downhill little twisties!
I have a video, its uploading to youtube, when its done, I’ll drop the link here!

Revelation to save Canadians BILLIONS!

So we were discussing government on IRC the other day, and I mentioned that we should team up and create a better party: The IRC Party of Canada.
Our platform:
We promote the disbanding of all non-raw text based communication, and non-newline based communication protocols. Encryption is mandatory for all communications.
Think about it, how much money could we save the country if we just got rid of the mess of having 308 people in parliament, just fill the house with a nice server cluster, and we’re good. People wouldn’t have to get dressed to attend, parliament could be carried out from the comfort of your own bed. We could create the PIRCd (Parliamentary Internet Relay Chat Daemon), voting would be done through a bot, the speaker of the house would have Netadmin rights on the server, and +Q in the #CDN-Parliament Channel, MPs would have +v, and backbenchers would have no voice, just like it is right now in the House. Leader of the government, and leader of the opposition parties would have ‘localadmin’ and think of how easy it would make it for Harper to fire his MPs if they spoke out: “/gline <MP>”.
I’m sure we could iron out more of the details, but I truthfully see no issues with this new form of government……….
Yup, an actual post

Yup, thats right, this is an actual blog post on the blog that probably no one will ever read.
I’m gonna attempt to keep up with it, I know I say that all the time, but I think this time I actually have some focus on this. I figure I’m going to dump my opinions on stuff here, even if no one reads it, its still at least a place for me to vent. There will be nothing left unturned, politics, eployment, life, etc…..
I’m also going to use this as a way to show my pictures, and stuff, so please if you do actually read this, click through to the gallery and check stuff out. I plan to enable comments in there if I haven’t already. Anyways, for now I believe this is enough, I have more to say, but I have stuff to do, so I’ll be back later to give my first rant. It’ll be a good one, its on this Canadian DMCA shit….
